Squids And Allays Reworks

What if when you went near squids,they could give you water breathing or allays that give you luck?

    That probably would be a tick function - meaning the game checks every tick to see if player is near squid or allay - which can cause lag. Maybe feed / give the squid or allay something to get the potion affect?
