The falling leaf particles should have the same color palette as the leaf litter because it makes more sense for dead leaves to fall off trees rather than healthy ones. Maybe even make it so that leaf litter generates under leaf blocks over time like how cauldrons can be filled up with lava using dripstone with lava over it.
