Animals characterization

I was playing the other day and i realized that there are very few pets and animals in general with which you can form a bond, and even when you do both dogs and cats don't really do much. It could be interesting to make it so cats can scratch wool, and maybe this can lead to other dynamics. Dogs could be more expressive. Either way the companions could be in need of more attention by the player.
