Cattails: seed grenades

I love, absolutely love how mojang made firefly bushes. Now I thought of a new special plant. Cattails will spawn in ponds. Swamps, and by rivers. You can break the seed pod off the cattail with shears and harvest the plants with a fist. I was thinking that cattail seed pods have a throwing mechanic like that of the trident, where if you hold long enough, you ca throw it farther. Thi would make range flexibility. Finally, I was thinking. The when you trow it, when it lands either on an entity or the ground, it will both do damage to whatever entity it hit, and then explode into clouds of seeds, making it hard to see. Thus could be a an awesome smoke screen mechanism for the game.
