I hate the zombie's attack range.

The zombie's attack range is far too large, I'm not exaggerating when I say that zombies can literally hit me before I can hit them. I can spam my weapon or try to hit it, but I swear that these zombies have a crazy far attack range. I play on Switch, so I play bedrock. Does this happen for anybody else-?
