Definitely a good idea, I would say more so Ray Reconstruction to mitigate some of the boiling and smearing issues with the current ray tracing/path tracing implementation on Minecraft Bedrock.

that would maybe put the 3000 series at risk of no DLSS compatibility, not a very good idea

Definitely agree, i don't see why Mojang haven't already upgraded the dlss version of Minecraft, it benefits both those with the already rtx capable hardware, (newer or older), those who play competitively, and makes Minecraft rtx a viable alternative to vibrant visuals for those with the capable hardware. The state Minecraft rtx is in right now is basically unplayable.

great idea, the current dlss version stinks and my upscaling is always greyed out but i'm using a laptop (for cad) with a quadro rtx 5000 in it. so the performance stinks with it off :/

For the people who are worried that the 2000 and 3000 series GPUs will stop working, that is not going to happen, and I’ll explain why.

Currently, the version of DLSS that Bedrock has is called DLSS Super Resolution, also known as DLSS 2.0 From now on, I’ll refer to it as (SR). This works on all generations: 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 series GPUs.

Now, implementing DLSS Frame Generation, also known as DLSS 3.0 (which I’ll refer to as FG), is a completely different technology from (SR). It does not replace it — it activates separately. This feature can only be used by 4000 and 5000 series GPUs. HOWEVER, 2000 and 3000 series users can continue using (SR) without any problem.

As for DLSS 4 (which is an improvement to both SR and FG), it can only be used by 5000 series users. HOWEVER, users of previous generations can continue using the DLSS versions that are compatible with their GPUs. Implementing the new models does not affect them in any way it simply provides the option for those who have higher generations to get better performance, especially since ray tracing is extremely demanding.
