Recently it has become apparent that if you want to stay up to date with what's coming up in future updates, either in the next snapshot or later, you need to keep up with individual minecraft developers' social media posts. this is a problem, a lot of the minecraft community is young and so they might not be allowed to use social medias, but also a number of the community is politically minded so they might be opposed to policies some social medias have. (on occasion players will even be asked via social media for opinions, or what they'd like to see)
a simple solution to this is to start making regular posts between snapshots featuring teasers for snapshot features (or other things devs are working on, that might not even make it into the next update). These wouldn't need to go into detail, they could be short and to the point, "Hi, I'm a developer of minecraft, here's what I've been working on:" and they could include features that might get scrapped, like "i'm working on a new block. it emits a smell through your monitor" or changed "here's a rough version of a feature we're working on" or that might not work within the next update, but could work in the future.
most importantly i think these would give players insight to how the game is developed (lots of people seem to assume changes Could get made overnight but everyone's just Choosing to Withhold the features everyone wants) and they would potentially let players give feedback Before changes get released.
