It should be more of an exploration and adventure when finding a abandoned village and they currently serve no purpose other than cobwebs. Their is a limited selection of archaeology structures in the game right now and rather than adding new ones I think we should add to existing ones (similar to what happened to the desert temple with its new suspicious sand room). Their would be small patches of gravel that is brushable which could turn up emeralds, ominous banners (suggesting that a raid turned the village abandoned), ominous bottles, woodland mansion maps, and maybe even a totem if your lucky. This would increase the use of abandoned villages as they are already rare so make them have a purpose, backstory, and loot that is worth the find.
P.S. Abandoned villages should spawn in pale gardens to increase creepiness
