As of now the leaf litter block is a dead brown color and in my opinion does not fit with the vibrant color scheme of Minecraft. The block sits on the ground and just stays there. I have come up with 2 ideas to make leaf litter feel more ambient.
- Add a life cycle!
When the leaves fall they should start out as a color that matches the trees living leaves. Over time their color could change like how dying leaves do in real life. Once these leaves reach their final color they could eventually disappear, this would solve the problem of the leaf litter block covering the ground.
- Player placed leaf litter never despawns!
If a player were to pick up and place the leaf litter themselves over any course of its life cycle, the leaves will never change its color. This would give more color variety for any players builds.
