This post is part 3 in a series of feedback that adds more reward to daily Minecraft nature.
Before we begin, I would like to compliment Mojang on 15 years of Minecraft, and also on doing many exciting things since the switch to Microsoft. The idea behind grainy grass is that many western areas of the United States do not look at grass fields the same way the rest of the world does. "Amber waves of grain" is literally a line in the song America the Beautiful for a reason, and we should appreciate that. Honestly, this feature doesn't add much reward yet, so I took some time to brainstorm it, and I came up with an idea.
My proposal is to add grainy grass. This will be a 3rd growth stage of the grass foliage block, and will have a wheat-like texture on the top with a grassy texture on the bottom. This grass will spawn in windswept biomes, savanna, and plains in small patches that break up the repetitive normal green texture. As a reward for finding the grainy grass, breaking it has a 100% chance of giving you wheat seeds. This will help you gather seeds for farming faster, and as an additional useful feature, shearing them will give you the grass instead of the seeds, which can be put in a loom, or crafting table to make rope which can have Redstone uses and can help make saddles and tools.
I think that this new foliage can help break up the flat land that is plains in a exciting way, while also providing a reward, and appreciating the nature you can find in the wild west.
