    I think this is a great fit for the variants of the savanna but I don't think it belongs in plains, as wouldn't a golden color look out of place against all the green. Additionally, I don't think it should in windswept biomes excluding the windswept savanna as again it looks out of place.

    maybe Mojang could add a separate "prairie" biome where the grainy grass will grow

    the purpose was to really put attention into colorado's and wyoming's open plains. look at just about any picture in google of grassy plains in colorado and wyoming areas. you will find no green grass without a little bit of grainy grass also dispersed around that. looking up a lawn or a golfing course is cheating. i was thinking that to commemorate the buffalo plains, we should make "amber waves of grain" a key part to minecraft nature.
