I agree with this. If it works well, DON'T FIX IT, even if its a bug.
Sometimes bugs can become core parts of any game, and Minecraft isn't the only one.
(And PLEASE, revert the change where players take damage falling from 2 blocks.)

We can all agree that if this becomes a real thing in minecraft, that the developers are willingly making the game boring for all of us.

Changes do be doin a lil' stinky. This is actually kinda hypocritical of mojang because they changed minecarts to be faster in a previous update and then reverted it because it would ruin stuff. Now, they just don't care about what it ruins and it makes people drift away from this game we once loved so dearly.. Also, you should make some nachos.

please revert the change, even though I'm not a part of the Java Community I wish that my favorite youtubers and other friends can still enjoy this old "bug" since it has been here over for 15 years

Mojang needs to learn a thing or two from Nadeo right now. I may not even play Trackmania, but one of the most famous things about it is the fact that game-breaking bugs were intentionally left alone, and even recreated and added to later installments. Mojang cannot simply "fix" bugs that are a decade and a half old, because they are so old they have been engrained into the game itself.

Mojang, please tell me this is just a test, to see what the community will think about it. Do not make these changes to the release version. Absolutely nobody benefits from this.

Responding to some common arguments for this suggestion:

    - "This puts you in a disadvantage"
No, because it is balanced by the fact those changes aren't personal to YOU and opponent not having this either puts you both in an equal position again where exploits don't gain your extra mobility.

    - "Some of the hardest parkour jumps are now impossible"
Duh. Parkour tests limits within the engine, human mind, reaction time and if you wanna make it harder you'd wanna compact it even more to the point where even an accidental 0.000000000001% change in a singular value would break it completely. They were created with this in mind and specifically for these purposes. Do you know how many older parkour courses "broke" when Mojang added the ability to sprint in b1.8? But surprise surprise, parkour adapted. It's not some new terrifying concept, it's a well-known thing in the parkour community and if you were really part of it you would know this.

Some jumps are broken, they'll adapt and be fixed, just like redstone is when there comes an improvement to game performance. I only agree with your "short term" argument here.

These "bugs" have been around for AGES. Reverting them will make Minecraft feel unnatural and unplayable for most of the players.

Mojang is becoming so out of touch with it's player base it's insane.

Mojang you must fix that. You are breaking Minecraft right now. You also have to unfix MC-152728, too. YOU ARE DELETING FEATURES NOT BUGS. PLEASE WE DEMAND YOU.

For at least half of my hundreds of hours in Minecraft, I did not know diagonal walking was faster. It did not negatively impact my gameplay in any way because I simply did not know about it. Removing this quirk in the code is ridiculous because it only takes away from the community. What does this add to make the game better?

This is simply a horrendous change. I have played minecraft on and off since the very earliest versions were available to play. This movement is simply apart of minecraft. Movement is one of the most significant ways players interact with a game from a first person perspective. To change a movement style that people enjoy and that the meta has evolved around for the last 15 years is not just negligent, it's absolutely incompetent and malicious.

    To spell this out further:

    1. It's negligent because it utterly disregards the experience and needs of the community at large, as well as the building and parkour communities in particular

    2. It's incompetent because changing a movement that has been established for over 15 years is not something to do on a whim, especially if it doesn't break the game, and you don't do it without extensive investigation as to whether it's even necessary in the first place. Even if somehow it 'broke' the game (WHICH IT DOES NOT), the only competent move would be to reimplement it in a way that doesn't break the game to satisfy all minecraft players, especially the parkour and builder communities.

    3. It's malicious because it ruins one of the fundamental aspect for how all minecraft players interact with the world, and completely destroys the established parkour community meta, and will make building far more tedious for everyone.

This is a horrid change, and must be reversed if Mojang does not want to be deemed Negligent, Incompetent and Malicious!

I main Bedrock and I use 45 strafes soooo much and it would be so bad to lose this and it would ruin pvp on bedrock. It would be as if they made the combat system go to bedrock as well

Mojang, if the "bug" is in the game for a long time and players get used to It why would you fix It? It is like you removed hunger bar and sayed that It is a glitch. People are so used to some features that removing them just make players upset.

Making this change would really kill minecraft, it would make a lot of people never update the game anymore, or not even play it anymore, mojang is extremely stupid for doing this, one of the worst business decisions they could have ever made, this angered so many players and with a really good reason. Please revert the changes NOW!

I'm a competitive bedwars player and PvPer, and if mojang put these changes into the game, I'd honestly quit after being an active player for 8 years. Mojang has gone too far too many times, they're on their last straw. Mojang, don't do this.

Litterally why would mojang do this. Theres no point in ruining the movement and pvp that Mojang has actually worked hard to make good.

unwise change, obviously the captive audience can permanently play old versions if they don't like the 'bold vision' of the future but if they want to overhaul pvp or parkour later and try to drum up interest with people who don't care at all about modern updates you enter a situation where you're developing the game for a ghost town. im sure all the money is made in microtransactions and spinoff media anyways but food for thought.

Please keep Minecraft the same, do not fix already good mechanics that are a part of the game.
