I think minecraft should get boats made of crimson and warped wood, since even though there's no water in the nether it doesn't make much sense that you can't make them. They should float on lava too, so you could use them as stepping stones or to quickly get out of lava if you fall in it. You wouldn't be able to ride through lava with them any quicker than if you were swimming in lava though, since otherwise striders would be useless.
