I think that since the nether's a pretty ominous place and illagers have been impacted by bad omen, piglins should too. An ominous event that's kind of like a raid with waves of piglins spawning inside the bastion would be a good way to do this. There could be a powerful variant of a piglin that has a netherite axe, fire charges to throw and fire resistance potions that drops ancient gold, a special form of gold with a piglin symbol on it.
This could be exchanged with piglin merchants, a new mob that doesn't restock and is kind of like the wandering trader of the nether. They could exchange gold, netherite scraps and ancient gold for nether items, and especially good stuff with ancient gold. They could also have an actual trading menu like villages too, to make them seem more like traders than regular piglins, and they could be found riding a strider across lava too.
I think this would be good because ominous events are a pretty interesting concept, and it would be interesting too see them in the nether too.
