Currently when pillagers win a raid nothing happens other than the pillagers celebrating in victory. losing a raid is also quite punishing for players, as they will have lost all the villagers in a village and getting more villagers can be quite a task even if you do manage to come back and defeat the raiders.
so what if the pillagers had stuff todo after completing a raid?
My suggestion is that the Illagers become a new type of villager, and live in the village, like a pirate shanty town (yaaar)
they act similarly to normal villager, and can take on all the same professions but with some key differences,
they dress similarly to normal villagers only more Illagery
they can defend themselves and can become hostile if a player attacks one, or has the bad omen effect and also turn hostile if you try to take one their beds they have claimed
they can trade in more blackmarket type goods, (ie poisin potions), and are quite a bit more expensive than regular villagers
perhaps they could scam the player for subpar good at exorbonate prices, Ie:an illager farmer sells you a potato but gives you a poisnous one instead, or a blacksmith sells you a tool, that has most of its durability drained, or an armorer sells you diomond helmet thats actualy a leather hemet died cyan etc
this feature, could give players some consolation for losing there villagers in a failed raid and ad a more variation to villages.
