Let me paint the picture. You're exploring your Minecraft world, nothing amiss, until you come across a large, ruined lab-like structure built into a mountain. Your curiosity gets the better of you, and you walk inside (I plan on making a later post about what this structure is). The interior is full of partially completed Redstone mechanisms, along with loot, resources, and.... living quarters? As you explore, you find small, comfortable living quarters that would suit villagers. The whole time, you can't shake the feeling of being watched. It's only when you attempt to leave when you find the dark secret within this structure. The Once-Was. A four-block tall, unnervingly smart foe. It used to be a villager, who volunteered to be genetically modified and enhanced by a smarter race of villagers, to create a better, more efficient iron golem. But things went wrong, and, the creature went rogue, killing every villager it came across. This mob is smarter than any other hostile mob in the game. It can climb on both walls and roof. Instead of just charging in and getting as many hits as it can, the Once-was attacks, then moves out of range of attack. Think you can just go under a two-block gap to avoid it? Wrong. It can hunch over to get you. Not just that, but the creepiest thing about this mob is that it doesn't just go in and attack you. If it notices you, it'll keep a distance, trying to remain hidden, and will taunt and scare you before going in for the kill. Not a fun enemy.
