The spreader: a new illager (ILLAGER LORE?)

So today, mojang dropped the sickest bit of illager lore confirming that illagers are just villagers sick with a violent disease like that of the mutated cordyceps fungus disease from the last of us. My idea to add on to this cool new lore idea, is to add an illager responsible for spreading this disease to villagers during a raid to grow the illager ranks. This illager would be called the spreader, and when he finds a villager, he casts a spell putting it under the ominous plague effect which cannot be stopped, and transforms the villager. In order to turn an illager back into a villager, you should feed it a notch apple. this spreader illager is the most violent of them all. He has a sword in his hand and will always ride a ravager to be more deadly. Killing a spreader with a banner has the ability of completely stopping a raid in its tracks, as the spreader is a boss. The spreader has 3 vex guards, and throw a tnt if the player gets too far away from th vexs. The final attack is a jumping Shockwave stomp from the ravager that does damage and knockback. This attack only occurs when you get the boss to half health. Finally, add a drop from the spreader that makes it worth fighting. This amazing feature really expands on the idea of a much anticipated illager lore drop that I personally am so excited finally happened. Good work mojang!

    I would like to point out that in the video (assuming we're both talking about the same video) they didn't actually confirm the theory of Illagers being sick villagers, this was simply the name, the original idea  was ill-built-villagers, which does not in any way mean sick, than they changed it to ill-villagers. This does imply sickness, but then it was changed once again to Illagers. The first two names, both have rather different meanings, and were both changed/scrapped before the end result.

    It is true of course that the video used the sickness idea throughout, but I wouldn't take this too seriously, I think its more of an ongoing joke, Mojang rarely just tells us the lore behind something.

    Most importantly however, at the end of the video they said that the in-game origin of the Illagers will remain a mystery, which means that, while them being sick Villagers is a possibility, this video does not actually prove it.

    Personally, I think that they are simply a society of villagers who will stop at nothing for the success of their group. They are far too organized and professional for sick villagers, and it seems weird to me that some sickened villagers could build structures that are far beyond anything regular villagers have managed. As for their grey color, I would argue that they smeared themselves with a sort of mashed up mushroom paste which prevents the undead from targeting them (the zombie apocalypse is mushroom related).
