A player can right-click a naturally generated Creaking Heart (with an item? Perhaps with Amber, if the player realizes they can place it on blocks, they may try the Creaking Heart) in the Pale Garden biome, and it will set their spawn to that block, similar to the Nether Respawn Anchor. On death, the player will respawn to a random position in that Pale Garden. Additionally, a permanent debuff is assigned to the player until they die or the Creaking Heart is broken (using a Bed or Respawn Anchor keeps the debuff, but the player will still respawn at the Creaking Heart). At night, this debuff spawns a Slow Creaking/Pale Creeping near the player's position anywhere in the world. This Creaking will freeze on first visual contact and disappear with second visual contact or after 30 seconds since first visual contact. Parrots can also freeze this Creaking variant on sight, during which the Parrot makes no noise.
Additional, tangentent ideas:
- Pale Pumpkin: When worn, a 30 second slowness/weakness debuff is applied, after which a player's inventory is set to be kept as long as the pumpkin is worn. This Pale Pumpkin has larger eyes and mouth carvings, when does not reduce the player's GUI visibility as much as a normal Carved Pumpkin. The player first must use a Pumpkin or Carved Pumpkin on a Creaking, which equips it. When equipped, the Creaking is no longer frozen on eyesight but can be killed, though they have significant health and increased damage. If the Creaking does, the Creaking Heart is destroyed, or at sunrise when the Creaking disappears it will drop a Pale Pumpkin.
- Warden Interaction: Have a Creaking drop a Totem of Attachment (keepInventory) and disappear when attacked by a Warden. The Creaking Heart associated with the Creaking will detonate like TNT.
- Respawn Compass Rework: Make it so that a Respawn Compass is kept on death, or make the compass creates a gravestone on death and the compass is consumed.
