I've always felt like the particles that point you to the creaking heart was a little too obvious when it comes to pointing you to the heart. But with the new resin that has been added, I think it makes the perfect replacement! I propose that resin replaces the particle effect.
I believe that the "particle beam" created when striking the Creaking is cool, but clunky and obtrusive way to search for the heart. Luckily, a new solution has just been introduced: The tree with the creaking heart creates resin on it when the Creaking is struck. Now that this mechanic has been implemented, I believe it would be beneficial for the particles to be removed and replaced with the creation of resin. (Or at least, make it toggleable through commands).
Here's my reasoning.
- The particles are quite obtrusive and don't make sense context of the world.
- Resin coming out of the tree near the heart makes sense in the world. (It's like the tree is bleeding)
- Searching for the "bleeding" tree is more exciting than following the particle beam. (It's more like a scavenger hunt, while following the "particle beam" is too straight forward.
- Searching for resin may create a need to look away from the Creaking, making the interaction more of a puzzle.
