If a player's farm gets large enough, say 25+ crops growing, there should be a chance that several crows will spawn and if one of the crops is ripe, the crows will land for 25 seconds or so, pick some crops and fly off. The crows may also pick up dropped items and fly away similar to the vulture idea. You can chase off the crows yourself by getting within 5 or so blocks, but if you want to automate scaring them off, or prevent them from spawning, you'll need to travel to the Pale Garden in order to find Pale Pumpkins which can only be harvested at night and use it to craft a scarecrow. Creaking wont be able to move if a scarecrow is looking at them and it'll scare away crows. Perhaps when you break a Creaking Heart, any of the Creaking it spawned will turn into a withered creaking plants which will drop Pale pumpkin blocks when broken and this plant disappears when the sun comes up. The Creaking heart should look like a log block in the day so it's much harder to find unless you go at night. I also feel like players will destroy the Pale Garden really fast so the biome should automatically plant new saplings with new creaking hearts if there aren't trees nearby.
Also, the Creaking should give you slowness and mining fatigue for 15 seconds when they hit you. That way you have to look at them to keep them back and you can't just run in and break the Creaking Hearts so fast. If a creaking is trapped or can't reach you, it should be able to respawn somewhere else.
