To make the pale garden more scarry, you could have a vine-like plant that acts as a trap that blocks the player from moving, forcing you to watch your steps. Combining that with a dense fog, it would make traversing the biome more of a danger, forcing you to be aware of your surroundings as well as of the sound effects. They should be easy to break, to not make it too annoying either, almost as fast as breaking moss!
In the pale garden, it could be pretty common to stumble upon it. But you could make a regular jungle/mangrove variant that is rare but adds a gameplay variation!
