Travelers are adventuring mobs that like to wander the vast lands of Minecraft. They are passive mobs, regardless of what kind of creature they are, and they are very rare. In the Overworld, they appear as villagers, in the Nether, they look like piglins, and in the end, they are endermen.
When you find one, you can trade with them. A villager trades with emeralds, a piglin trades with gold, and I'm not sure about enderman currency (Mojang, invent an end ore, okay?). Trading with them, you can get explorer maps for any structure except igloo, ruined portal, ocean ruins, and nether fossil. (maps to rarer structures cost more, of course).
However, be aware that with travelers, act fast if you see one! As the name suggests, they're going places, so they'll keep moving if they don't have anything to do! (If you are thinking about tying them up with leads, they can untie knots. Naming one to keep it from despawning could be a solid strategy, though)
