If the warden is angered, and has pinpointed a player's location, it should be able to (slowly and menacingly) climb walls. Pillaring up has always been a safe alternative for players to escape any danger, yet for a force such as the warden, it should not be so easy to escape from his wrath. The players can still escape the warden with this strategy, but they will be required to go up significantly more, possibly digging straight up into a cave ceiling and enclosing themselves, or bridging to the sides to escape into a cave tunnel. Simply pillaring and watching as the warden slowly forgets about you is rather anti-climatic. Sure, it has a ranged attack, but it has a limited range.
