An idea I was thinking about recently, as your city/village/build becomes more established for example, with farming, beds, animals, maybe even a dock etc. A boat should come to your destination carrying two villagers with the sound of a bell or nice sounding horn to let you know they have arrived. It would be your job to get them to safety and populate your area. If not they get left to the zombies.

Only if you are situated near water, though. What about the villagers arriving by a llama caravan on land? These villagers could also have unique dress like the Wandering Trader's. Something not far from Bohemian maybe?

P.S. The system shouldn't care all that much on the actual features of the player's base. Maybe they start having a percentage of spawning past day 150, say?
