Tamed Mob Transportation

I'm sure many players have the same issue, tamed mobs such as wolves and cats (and especially parrots) become essentially useless for end-game exploration due to the inability to teleport when they are in unloaded chunks. I propose a new item, maybe an amulet or something of sorts that would allow the player to right click on the tamed mob and "store" it until they wish to recall it, possibly thousands of blocks away. It could be crafted with echo shards, which would provide a use for these items which really hold no functionality at the moment anyways.
