Minecraft recently added an experimental data pack called "Minecart Improvements" which makes minecarts faster. However, they can only be sped up with commands. However, I have a suggestion that would make both Camman18 community happy, and the community responsible for farms. Because making Minecarts faster by default would break tons of mechanisms and potentially some rollercoasters. So I suggest adding "Calibrated Powered Rails" which would look like normal powered rails but with a little bit more purple on it. It would change Minecart speed depending on the redstone signal. If the redstone signal would be one. It would move Minecarts at 1 block per second. However, if the redstone signal would be 15. It would move Minecarts at 15 blocks per second. If the Minecart speed were faster than 11 blocks per second, then they would derail and to prevent that, you would have to place a block next to the turn to prevent that. You could craft calibrated power rails the same way you can craft calibrated sculk sensor however instead of sculk sensor, you would use normal powered rails. Another thing that should be added in the same update is being able to place rails on the walls and on the selling. However if they would not move on the walls or on the ceiling, they would fall down and get destroyed upon hitting anything. Also furnace minecarts should act like normal furnaces, and also this update would add crafting table minecarts. And the ability to connect Minecarts using chains.
