Please change locator maps back to the way they were!

With the new update 1.21.20 on Bedrock, you guys changed locator maps where you don’t know which way you’re facing when not on the map. I am extremely disappointed by this. If it was for parity, then Java should have got the arrow. Instead you made it where you don’t know which way to go to get on the map and it’s not like Bedrock has the F5 menu like Java and they can see which direction they’re facing. This is a huge nerf…

    There is a reason it was called a locator map and requires a compass to make it. Dumb change period. Basically just screwed hundred of hours of time people invested in maps.

    I been playing on my son's realm since 2012 on xBox.  I have HUNDREDS of portals and have Nether railways that take 15 minutes or more to travel end-to-end.  Sometimes when he joined the realm I would not know where he was.  I could always find the direction to go where he was on a locator map.  Now since what I am assuming to be a parity change from Java the camera icon changes off map to a blob and goes away completely if traveled far enough from the map.  I am not a Java hater.  I bought Minecraft Java for PC,  Mac, and Linux.  I also bought Bedrock for PC, Switch and xBox.  On Java I can always toggle the debug screen to see my co-ordinates.  Yes I know you can turn them on in Berock, but it is not my realm and my son says you don't have them in real life so he won't turn them on in his realm.  This one change has made Minecraft unplayable for me.  Please fix this.  I you won't make this like it was due to 'parity'. then give me a debug screen for Bedrock so I am not blind with the SEVEN shulker boxes full of locator maps I carry around in an ender chest to navigate this realm as they are all now rendered useless by this change.  I have spent the last weeks trying to find my way back to a place I was where I was mining .  Thank you.

    Guys this is a tragic change. Here the parity should have IMPROVED JAVA and not screwed up bedrock!!!

    I do not support the new map update the reason is that I cant find a way to make it to the woodland mansion without the arrow

    I've played Minecraft on and off, since way before even the magicians were introduced.

    I've had worlds, lost worlds, lost worlds to other people hosting and not being able to get the seed / world.

    I've recently gotten through my minecraft burnout, and came back and founded a village.

    The game's really not hard if you know what you're doing.

    I see Coal / Iron is harder to get, while diamonds are way easier to get. cool. I need iron / coal so I look for it, leave the locator map, because apparently this is a thing now?

    Luckily, have good sense of direction. traveled back 5000+ blocks to get back to my village.

    Without the use of coordinates, how am I supposed to find my way back now? Why was this change even invoked? What is the use of a locator map, if the locator doesnt work propperly?

    I think ima go back to taking a break lol, im not missing out on much apparently.

    Trying to find a woodland mansion with my kids and the map we obtained is worthless. I had to explain that this is just what Microsoft does. Like how you can’t put a button on fenceposts anymore, or like how they’re constantly screwing up Outlook.

    even just using it creative is so weird it’s only zooming out in one direction, the only direction i didn’t want it to. i changed my positioning 50 million times thinking it just needed to be pointed to where i wanted but nope. i swear last time i was playing a month ago i was using them just fine
