An upgrade to the badlands biome would be great, considering it is fairly bland in comparison to all the features of other biomes.
Badland Bandits would be passive/hostile mobs seen riding horses around the badlands, with an old, western aesthetic. They could introduce a new type of acquiring loot, so when the bandits ride through the terrain, they drop scattered pieces of gold or other loot behind them, letting the player pick it up.
There could also be small structures resembling the “camps” of one or more bandits, where loot is stored. In a way similar to trial chambers, bandits would repeatedly come back to this camp to drop off loot, meaning players could steal and come back when more is deposited. The catch is that if one of the bandits catches you, they would attack you, and ultimately if you died, take a few of the items in your inventory, bandit style. It’d have to be hard to not get caught multiple times visiting these camps, otherwise loot would be too easy to find. If all 1-3 or whatever number of bandits that visit a certain camp are killed, no more loot would get deposited and the site would be rendered useless.
I thought this was a really cool idea, and I appreciate the time anyone takes to read this. I think it’d really spice up one of the lacking biomes, while also introducing a unique mob and structure.
