Wind Burst enchantment and and blast protection

I've recently used the Wind Burst enchantment and I've noticed that when you have Netherite armor with blast protection it doesn't boost you at all and I wanted to see if it's possible for it to work as if you don't have the protection of your armor but only work with the wind charge of the enchantment because I feel it takes away from the usefulness of the mace enchantment
