In my opinion, the Blaze feels like it should take some notes from the Breeze in terms of gameplay.
The Breeze jumps around you, giving you the slip up for an offensive advantage. The Blaze however just awkwardly levitates in place, making fighting it feel very mindless and predictable. Which I'd argue is inappropriate for what is supposed to be a late-game enemy in a late-game structure.
The Breeze has a wind up sound effect for its ranged attacks, giving the player opportunity for countering its attacks. The Blaze... simply doesn't. It's gameplay that mistakes "frustrating" for "challenging".
Lastly, this is a minor complaint but the Blazes visual design has the same problem the old Bat did, in that its face is too "player-like". Regular eyes with human facial proportions wearing a blank expression. The Breezes eyes being so far apart and low on its head with the comically large eyebrows is enough to sell that its an unfriendly fantasy creature.
I love the amount of polish newer mobs have and I hope to see this design philosophy carry over to older mobs in general some day. I mean Blazes were introduced 13 years ago. I think its time, haha.
