Decorative redstone block

Wonder if Minecraft would ever create a block with the same (or similar) functionality of the redstone blocks, but is textured as a decorative block? I like the redstone blocks and redstone but I hiding it can be difficult, especially in the case where you want to create a singular-block-depth-wall. Having a decorstive redstone block that could hold a redstone (or glowstone) charge would offer new use potential. Maybe the block has some transparency in the texture to show within the block if it is a redstone or glowstone charge. Might be a cute and functional decorative addition to the redstone 'circuitry system' lol
