An option in the audio settings to customize the frequency of music playback in Minecraft. This feature could enhance nostalgia for many players by mimicking the sporadic music from earlier versions, making the music moments feel more special. It could also satisfy people who can't stand the silence and prefere the music to be more constant like in creative mode.
This can be implemented in two ways:
Toggle Option: A simple toggle that switches between "Classic" and "Default" music playback. The "Classic" option would mimic the less frequent, unpredictable music of earlier Minecraft versions, while the "Default" option retains the current, more frequent predictable music playback.
Frequency Slider: To keep the audio menu consistent, a slider can be introduced. This slider would range from 0 (no music tracks playing) to 100 (constant music playing). This allows players to fine-tune the music frequency according to their preferences, ensuring that those who enjoy frequent music and those who prefer it to be rarer can both be satisfied.
Implementing this feature could not only bring back the charm for many long-time players by making the moments music plays more special but also enhance the immersion and overall enjoyment by providing greater customization options, for example people who want to play their music discs, more often than not get in an overlapping mess with the default music, because the high frequency makes it very likely to play at the same time.
