If you touch anything that burns you in java and instantly leave the fire, the fire lasts a very short amount of time. By also running around, you can extinguish the fire much faster. This only works in java. In bedrock, once you touch anything that burns you, even if you touch it for just a split second, the burn lasts the whole duration (about 12 seconds). Running around won't also shorten the duration and it will remain at 12 seconds (or whatever maximum burning time is when you're wearing fire protection enchanted armor).
It should be so that whenever you touch fire in bedrock, the duration depends on how long you've touched the fire. If you touch fire for a split second, the fire should burn you only once instead of 12 times. Running around should also shorten the duration of burning, just like in java.
