That's really cool since they did the same thing to Bedrock Edition.

Support. The Bedrock Edition no longer provides PDB files, and the Java Edition should follow suit by stopping the provision of MCP!

yeah, you're right, so why should a single-player game consider removing MCP will be more secure???

In view of the recent removal of the Bedrock Edition's pdb for security, in order to improve the security of mc, it is recommended to remove the Java Edition's mcp

I think this is still not safe enough, Minecraft Java Edition should be compiled into native-image and use Digital Rights Management.

I used to host my own server where I played with my classmates. I made it public so that they could join anywhere. Unfortunately, this sever was attacked by someone I didn't know. I still don't know what they used but  they crashed my world.

This changes should fix this kind of issues since it will be much harder to hack my server.

Absolutely! Don't you know that someone could make hacks with this? We should absolutely be punishing regular mod developers with this too! What's that? It won't stop hack developers anyway? That's your problem

Wow. Do you understand that removing these maps will only change the timing of the release of Mod Loaders?)

Forge existed for years without deobfuscation maps.

    I'm laughing :D, kids.

As a small Marketplace content creator, I can support this post.

Mods in Minecraft Java pose a huge competition to add-ons in the Marketplace, which is why myself and many other content creators cannot get more income, and as a result, Microsoft can't either. Players prefer Minecraft Java with its free mods over our projects in the Marketplace.

So if a Microsoft employee reads this post, I ask you to pay attention to it. This will help all Marketplace content creators and also benefit you by increasing your profits. If Minecraft Java loses the ability to modding, players will have no choice and will be forced to use Marketplace only!

    Thank you.

I agree, it's only fair that both editions of the game are treated equally.

I 100% agree with this. Did you know that at least 1 in 2 java hacked clients were made with the help of the obfuscation map. It's removal would be a great way to stop cheaters in java edition, I cant think of a single reason to not do this. Just get the same guys who decided it was a good idea on bedrock to give the all clear.

Oh and remember to not announce it publicly or give the community a say in the matter, after all, who even needs a community that is dedicated to improving the game. Mojang clearly have it covered.

This is an interesting irony :)

The bedrock version of the PDB file was recently removed, causing the Bedrock Edition server to become very insecure.

However, even if the proposal is adopted, it could not devastate the Java Edition community. Bedrock Edition players could not make Java Edition players feel the same pain as they do when they lost the PDB file.

This is a need request. I hope mojang does the same thing to java. They need to take security seriously.
