/Piston Push Limit Game Rule

I think 12 blocks is a good piston push limit for normal Minecraft, but there should be a game rule that allows you to make it higher. Right now it is very hard to do this even if you are willing to download a mod. It could be used in a SMP or if you want to make a Redstone contraption without having to worry about piston push limits.
