What if we could use copper to make copper dust which can carry a Redstone signal for longer than normal Redstone dust. So a Redstone dust line needs a Redstone repeater every 15 blocks to carry forward the signal. What if copper dust could hold that signal for much longer, such as, 20 blocks, or 25 blocks before it needed a repeater. It would make sense since copper in the real world is highly conductive. And if the idea is developed, different ores could be used for different dust which can carry a progressively higher Redstone signal. We could use ores such as gold as well to make gold dust. In synopsis, materials that are conductive in real life can be used to make enhanced dust in Minecraft which can carry a Redstone signal for much longer. Now I am not an expert coder and do not know if it is easy to implement in both Java and Bedrock, but hopefully it can because it does not alter too much. I love Minecraft and its Redstone system. Cheers!
