With the new snapshot you have literally ruined the mace and turning it into another trident, which is too difficult to get and useless for P.V.P.
The Mace needs to be rebalanced so we don't stay in the same P.V.P. meta, but how?
First, go back before snapshot 24w18a, then lower the Mace attack speed from -2.4 to -3.5, increase the shield's durability so it can counteract the Mace damage. If the player with the maze hits the shield, he takes fall damage, and reduce a bit the limit of height that increases damage (basically make it not kill the dragon in one hit))
Doing all of this we can make a useful weapon that is powerful but not OP
