The new changes for balancing the mace have made it nearly pointless as a weapon. The only point of using it with how slow it is now is for the falling mechanic.
It has gone from niche to gimmick.
Please revert the attack speed changes at the very least; if it were doing diamond sword damage but hit at the speed of a diamond axe, it would probably be fine, or vice versa with it hitting for less but attacking faster, though for the supposed weight of the weapon that makes less sense.
These changes have made it go from being a sibling of swords to drastically inferior. Breach and the falling damage mechanic are the things that are making it too strong, if anything.
I was already only using it occasionally, now I'll probably only ever use it to kill withers, and even then it would probably be easier to use iron golems.
Axes make sense because they have higher damage, slower output. This change to the mace has nerfed it in every category, its got lower damage, lower speed, can't be upgraded to netherite, and is extremely challenging to get.
