Call of the depths would be about a journey through the new cave biomes, with underwater levels in aquifers, levels where you have to use special items to move as to not trigger skulk shriekers, ect.
The story would follow a shard of the orb of corruption, where they has landed through the deep dark portal in the middle of the ancient city, causing the skulk corruption to leak into the over world.
You could have many new mobs and variants of each one you find called infested mobs, who are infused with skulk and very powerful.
The final level could take place in the skulk dimension where after you get the shard at the end of the level the skulk mobs form together into the skulk monstrosity, blocking your path to the portal and making you fight (when killed it should drop the skulk heart, which is an artifact that summons skulk mounds/creatures to fight with you.) When it is killed its body should stand tall and still for a moment, before knocking into the portal and breaking it, trapping you in the dimension and leading to a new dlc that would be set in the "other dimensions" category.
