Idea for Tortoise mob and armor

A new mob that spawns in deserts and badlands, the tortoise! it is basically just a land turtle minus the swimming. They can be bred using cactus's (WHICH TORTOISES CAN INDEED EAT I CHECKED) and upon growing, similarly to their aquatic counterparts, drop a scute that can be put into a crafting table with 8 to make a chestplate, that upon being hit gives the wearer absorption level 1 for ten seconds and then you have to wait another ten seconds for it to reactivate. All in all, I believe this is a good concept for a mob and item.
