Noteblock Music Discs

I believe that with the new NBT update and reformatting we could add custom music discs.

Hypothetically, the player could record music (and sounds) by listening to whatever the player hears.
Note block contraptions, blocks and mobs would also be recorded to add that personal touch.
(Someone could even make their own Minecraft version of Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture with actual explosions!)

Crafting wise; This could also become a new use for skulk items like the echo shard due to its reaction to sound!

  I've been sitting on this idea for a while now and I think the idea of custom music discs would unfortunately render noteblock contraptions obsolete.

  I understand that in my original suggestion that I suggested that noteblock contraptions would be used to program the sound file into the music disc but that would not only make music discs less special but as I've said before make noteblock contraptions only used to program the player-made discs.
  (Not very innovative if you ask me.)

  What I was hoping to get out of custom music discs was to allow players to easily create their own music but I see now that I should be instead looking in a new direction.
