First, I suggest that the Bad Omen effect is immediately applied upon killing a raid captain because having it drop an ominous bottle makes Bad Omen not challenging to deal with anymore and also greatly slows down raid farms, which are the only late-game option to obtain larger quantities of redstone and emeralds. Second, converting the Bad Omen effect into the Raid Omen effect and triggering a raid when the effect runs out feels counter-intuitive since a major event that could easily wipe out your entire village should be clearly visible. Also, the Raid Omen effect is redundant because there already is a bossbar that makes it clearly visible that a raid is going to happen soon. This also slows raid farms further down, which, as I already mentioned, are an essential part of Minecraft's late game. And last, setting the raid center to the location where the player gained the Raid Omen effect and not having the raid center shift with the villagers beds and workstations just results in the illagers spawning around the player rather than around the village which makes the raid more of a "player raid" than a "village raid". And it breaks stacking raid farms. Finally, my suggestion: make some sort of bottle that can store potion effects for later obtainable from ominous trials. This way the player has to deal with the effect one time before they can make it easier to handle. If it remains like this, void trading might become default method, a bug far less sophisticated.
