Fireflies!

Fireflies were announced to be implemented into the wild update. But unfortunately the concept was shelved because fireflies are poisonous to frogs.

Instead of them being 'frog food', They could be used for something else. Like if a player defeats one, it has a chance to drop firefly dust which can be crafted with a glass bottle to get a firefly lantern, a new, decorative light source. If a player gets four firefly dust, they could craft a light block called a firelight.

The model should be a bit more 3D so it looks a bit closer to the bee, but much smaller. Fireflies should definitely be added in a near-future update.
