Alternative brewing fuel

I think blaze powder is too valuable/rare an item to be used for brewing. Although potions may seem like a very powerful item, you might need it for seemingly simple tasks such as curing a villager. However, you need an item that isn’t easily farmable or in some cases isn’t easy to get in general. Some players have a hard time obtaining it because of distance between their portal and a nether fortress. I have this exact problem in my world. I had a mending villager with mending that costed only 10 emeralds. I passed up on higher prices for mending trying to get the ten emerald price. I finally got it when a few hours later, it somehow got infected by a zombie. I had a golden apple but I hadn’t even begun brewing yet so there is no chance of getting a weakness potion since the nearest nether fortress is almost a thousand blocks away. My mending villager despawned today… Please add an alternative. Y’all have been cooking with this new update. Do it for my villager please.
