In java edition, when two nitwit villagers breed, there should be a 100% chance the baby comes out as a nitwit. When a normal villager breeds with a nitwit, there should be a 50% chance the baby comes out a nitwit. For some reason I thought this is how it worked to begin with, and was disappointed after learning you cannot breed villagers into nitwits at all.
In bedrock, according to the wiki, there a 10% chance 100% of the time a baby will turn into a nitwit. I have no opinion how bedrock works.
Some people are irritated by nitwits to begin with. I think they are quirky and useful for iron farms which is why I wanted to breed them. Nitwits being inherited by the parents is an interesting new dynamic. it would be even more interesting and quirky if there was a punnet square algorithm so it is possible for nitwits to skip a generation. I'm sure that would really mess with somebody!
