Currently, you find trail chambers by randomly finding one underground and you will enter from a random room. I believe it would make a lot of sense if their was some sort of surface room that leads into the chamber. This room could have a bed for the player to set their spawn, a chest to put their items, and then the ladder or staircase downwards into the chamber.
I know the developers like to keep structures connected to the games hidden lore and if the trail chambers are some sort of training area that was used before the player got there, it would make sense that it as some sort of accessible entrance point on the surface.
