The new Mace weapon is amazing to say the least, but has a glaring power creep issue, simply being the damage output is close to infinite, so here's some ways I think it could be improved:
1.a damage cap of 40 hit points, with a rng factor playing over each additional hit point after that. Basically your guaranteed to hit for 40 damage if your at that height but anything over that has a increasing unlikely chance of doing more damage.
2. A enchantment called quake, aoe, ect. That grants aoe damage with jump hits. The level of the enchantment can increase the size of area affected and damage each hit does.
3.increased durability damage depending on how high up you are when you landed a hit (for exmp, a hit from 50 blocks does 10 durability)
4. Since it is a Mace a slower swing speed makes sense (maybe a normal hit is a sweeping attack that damages multiple mobs, the last mob gets damaged the most because of momentum)
5.also a "stun" feature makes sense since its a blunt weapon
6. There could be a enchant effect that would negate the "no fall damage side effect" when you land a hit, that has a trade off so you do more core damage called "reckless" ect.
7.last but not least (and probably the most unlikely) a new hostile mob that only spawns in the trial chambers called the "clank", "barbarian" "the quake" ect. That works in tandem with the breezes to defeat the player and the could increase the likely-hood of the player getting a heavy core as a reward from the vaults
