Oh look, it's a rare case of snapshot Thursday! This week we're expanding your arsenal with a smashing new weapon... (The) Heavy Core (is) a mysterious, dense block which can be combined with a Breeze Rod to craft a brand-new weapon: the Mace!
But perhaps it could do more... you see, with this new update, we're getting many new combat-associated features such as the trial chambers, but as of now, the HEAVY CORE, a new rare item that is dropped from trial vaults and is used for the aforementioned mace, pales in comparison to the utility of the Wind charge. If some of Minecraft's recent additions have been missing anything, it'd be utility... most items are one and done (I.E. Clocks), but the wind charge on the other provides a perfect example on what an item should be... for a dense block of metallic material, the heavy CORE should have a secondary crafting use, and I'd like to suggest a simple way to enhance the combat experience with this new item:
[Heavy Weapons]
Your trusty sword & axe, now bigger and better! Leverage these weighted weapons to smash your foes into oblivion.
- Merge a sword or Axe in a smithing table with the heavy core to add a block of reach and a point of damage to them... turns them into a mighty broadsword and Halberd respectively.
- Holding either will slightly decrease speed, and the attack speed is lowered due to the weight, which gets worse if have an off-hand weapon.
- Dealing a critical hit with either will debuff your opponent with brief, moderate slowness.
