Both unique weapons introduced in the last few years (ie. the trident and crossbow) also came with unique enchantments. Here's some ideas for the mace:
Rebound:
When hitting an enemy from a fall of 2 or more blocks, the player is bounced up again by 1-2 blocks, allowing multiple high-damage attacks to be chained. To balance this, the number of bounces would be limited to 1 for enchantment level 1, 2 for level 2 and so on.
Shockwave:
This would spread the damage from a mace attack from a fall of 1.5+ blocks in a 3×3 block radius, dealing 5 damage on the block of the enemy hit and 3 damage to enemies on adjacent blocks (as opposed to the normal 7 damage to one enemy).
Pummeling:
Every time an enemy is hit in quick succession without the player being hit, the mace's attack rate increases up to a limit. Batting: When falling from 2+ blocks, sprinting or moving whist riding an animal an enemy which is hit by the mace will receive knockback relative to the distance fallen or speed travelled at.
Weighting:
The mace's attack speed is reduced but it deals 1-3 extra damage depending on its level and applies brief slowness effect.
