The mace in the snapshot is fairly powerful, and the damage output can skyrocket depending on your height (or fall speed), you could theoretically one-shot all the bosses in the game.
Seeing as the weapon is one, already so powerful (depending on how long you fall), two, its high damage is achieved by slamming down on an enemy from a particular height, and three, the weapon's DPS is identical to the diamond sword (Could just replace the diamond sword until you get netherite), the mace could use a little nerfing.
For example, the attack rate can be slightly lowered, at least so the DPS of the weapon is weaker than a diamond sword. If the DPS was nerfed, and the mace is still able to achieve high damage outputs, a player can still use the mace for its' extremely powerful falling attacks, and switch to an axe/sword (or still use the mace) depending on the weapon they prefer once they are on the ground.
This post is based on the assumption that you would still be able to add sharpness 5 / other enchantments to the mace, and the mace keeps its very useful high damage output. Otherwise, the introduction of the mace, without some kind of nerf, makes the diamond sword slightly more obsolete (kind of...).
